About the Event

Religion and worldview shape more of our everyday lives than we may realize—from the holidays we celebrate and the food we eat to how we dress, grieve, make decisions, care for family, and connect with community. In a place as richly varied as Charlotte-Mecklenburg, understanding these differences can help us avoid assumptions, build trust, navigate moments of uncertainty, and serve one another more effectively.

Join Rev. LeDayne McLeese Polaski, Executive Director of Mecklenburg Metropolitan Interfaith Network (MeckMIN), and Dr. Alisha M. Wimbush, Program Director for Religious Leaders at the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS), for a practical, interactive introduction to the religious identities, traditions, and worldviews that are part of our community.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to approach religious differences with curiosity and respect—and how doing so can help us become better neighbors, coworkers, friends, and public servants.
