About the Event
The public is invited to attend the Catawba Valley Interfaith Council (CVIC)’s sixth annual Human Rights Day Commemoration on December 10 at 7 PM. Due to the ongoing pandemic and a continued rise in local COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations,the service will be live streamed on the Catawba Valley Interfaith Facebook Page or you can also join using Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided once you have registered for the event.
In December of 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the aftermath of the Second World War. Article 18 specifically address the “right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” and the “freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance,” which will be the focus of the service this year.
