What is Friday Friends? • Friday Friends is Mecklenburg Ministries’ Crossroads project to build greater interracial and interfaith trust across our city. • People are invited to have lunch with someone of another race, religion or culture on the last Friday of each month (or whatever time works for you) for six times to build a relationship and to get to know each other as people...not as "categories". • Mecklenburg Ministries provides questions to consider for each month’s meeting. • The goal is to have people learn to connect beyond the color of their skin and their religious or cultural beliefs by breaking bread together and finding the common ground of trust. • Over the past three years, over 700 people throughout the Charlotte community have committed to being lunch partners across differences: African American, Caucasian, Latino, Native American, Asian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha’i, Unitarian and Christian.
