A CLERGY STATEMENT ON THE ELECTION
On a historic day when America has elected its first African American President and North Carolina has elected its first woman governor, let us pledge to reach across the political aisles and across every barrier that divides us to work to make our city better, our state better and our nation better. And let us pray for our elected leaders at every level of public service that they will be given wisdom beyond themselves and that we, together with them, will bring the American dream closer to every person.
