Next Thursday, on Sept. 6, spiritual leaders representing ten faith traditions will break ground on the first Interfaith All Clergy Habitat home in the country. Working side-by-side, faith leaders will raise the walls and build a home for a deserving family over the next three months.

Our stretch goal was to have 80 clergy to participate in this house. Kudos to the Charlotte faith community that 107 faith leaders are committed not only financially but also personally to work on this project!

Why are we doing this? We want to bring clergy from across Charlotte and across our different faiths together to serve the needs of the community. This build gives the spiritual leaders of our city a "hands-on" opportunity to work together, to help provide housing, and to model inclusion by practicing what we preach.

The following faith traditions are involved: Jewish, Muslim, Baha'i, Unitarian, Buddhist, Hindu, Quaker and Christian: Protestant, Catholic and Mormon. To see a list of the clergy and houses of faith who are participating, read on!
