Calling all women - back by popular demand, Mecklenburg Ministries is offering another session of The Faith Club. Details below.

The Faith Club: A Mecklenburg Ministries Interfaith Women's Group

Due to requests, Mecklenburg Ministries is offering another session of The Faith Club for women. Join us as we read and discuss the groundbreaking book, The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew - Three Women Search for Understanding, by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver, and Priscilla Warner, as we chronicle the women's spiritual journeys, as well as our own. Please visit the website http://www.thefaithclub.com for more information.

After participating in the last study, Linda Schilling commented, "As a Catholic, I am particularly
grateful to my Jewish friend for bringing the Mecklenburg Ministries' Faith Club discussion group
to my attention. It was something we mutually enjoyed as a rare forum and opportunity. Although we have enjoyed years of friendship and find we are both surrounded by other close friendships including open-minded people of varied faiths, we rarely discuss our faith-based history or current events as it pertains to faith. The book, The Faith Club, gave us a great basis on which to craft our intimate sharing of details. Michelle Eliason helped each of us feel comfortable in adding to the conversation and kept us balanced as seekers. For five weeks we were approximately seven
people (give or take a doctor's appointment or work conflict) following the three authors example in making a concentrated effort to understand each person in their religious traditions and unique stories in being Christian, Muslim and Jewish. As a result I have a growing want and appreciation in other traditions and feel a richness added to my Catholic experience and that which I help to craft for my two young children. I will ask more questions with an open heart and encourage them to do the same. It is amazing what mounting good has come from 7.5 hours of summer chatter with people gathered to hear and learn from others around their religious traditions. I highly recommend this book and forum to any and all!
